View Full Version : Field test anyone?
Jim at TURF Magazine here. I'm looking for a licensed, insured LCO who would be interested in field testing a Ventrac Compact Utility Tractor with attachments.
If so, let me know and I'll set it up (I have to know where you are, so I can coordinate the details.
Thanks!
No takers, huh?
They do have super attachments and they are very anxious to have someone put 'em through the paces -- real time, and publish it in TURF.
Oh well, maybe I'll get a bite tonight.

Dang. I wish I had enough tractor work to make it worth their time. Oh well, maybe another time.

Funny this came up. I was just wondering if a tractor would be more useful than a skid steer and the skid steer had only one advantage that I could think of, maneuverability(sp?). A small tractor that could still handle decent loads would seem to be great. Got any pics or stats?

I would be interested regardless of what attachments it has. I can fax you my license, proof of insurance and anything else you need to get the ball rolling. I've got a new JD 250 skidsteer and would like to get a compact tractor, but I want to know if it's worth having both. I already have the power rake for the skidsteer and can visualize certain reasons a compact would be better for finish grading. I've got a digital camera and could work some photo segments as I work a project. Let me know! If you want to e-mail me with a phone number I can call you tomorrow Jim.
Thanks folks,
I will be in touch with the company this morning and will post back exactly what we are talking about -- which attachments, how long, etc.
Thanks,
Jim
The Ventrac? You can see it on page B3 in the August issue of TURF. Attachments include: mower, scoops, tiller, trencher, blower, snow thrower, loader, broom, stump grinder, power rake ... and I think a few others.

Heck yes we would be interested. Just saw this today though, not sure if we are too late. You can check out my wifes website for our info, location and work that we do.
Not sure that we can give it a good comparison, as we normally rent equipment but would love to have the oppurtunity to try!
Contact us if further information is needed. Thanks for the oppurtunity.

Jim at TURF again.
Just talked with the owner of the Ventrac company. His #1 choice for location would be central Ohio ... because his dealer network is bigger there. And, he'd have the maximum attachments available there.
However, he'd be ok with Massachusetts, New York state, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana.
His biggest selling attachment is the mower, but he's very interested in promoting his loader attachments.

Well, I guess that counts us out, I cannot believe that you would not be swamped with requests to participate. I would like to have the thing this weekend with that toothed bucket on it. I am putting in two patios this weekend and it would be slick I think. Tell him he needs to expand to the south just a bit. Have an excellent lawn equipment dealer just north of us here to work with. I would be happy to provide documentation showing the results of field testing and the modifications that I would make!
Oh well, at least I threw my name in the hat!

I'd like to throw my name in the plate for future field testing. If you ever need someone in Texas to try out some equipment. Big or small, we'll try it.
