ok just wondering i was talking to one of my customers about chem lawn who does his lawn four times a season. they charge him for 30 gallons of solution. he has 3000 square feet. and it says they are putting on the fert at 3 gallons per 1000 sqft. what the hell...? are they riping him off or are they just putting on that much more?

Seems like it should be 9 gals. but maybe the lawn is really 10,000 sq ft???
15 years ago, we didn't charge by the gallon & I doubt that has changed. $ by the square foot is the norm.
Maybe the applicator was having a bad day???

My guess is that the guy nitpicks them and questions the value.
The operator probably just told him he used 30 gals to make it sound like he's paying for something.
The fact is, most Trugreeners use a 1.5 GPM pressure for 1.5 gals per 1000. So, a 3000 sq footer will only get 4.5 gals of stuff that actually costs Trugreen about 30 cents.
Those are the big profit lawns. If he had an acre, he would be getting more gallons on the dollar.

the applicator was not just putting on 30 gallons one day he had done it 3 times this summer with amounts ranging from 28-30 gal. if they are indeed spraying 10,ooo square feet his neighbors are getting a good deal!
