those 400 series john deeres are amazingly reliable and durable....we have had a 455 diesel go 4500 hours with nothing but basic maintainence and it still ran great and held its value. How many hours are on it and who owned the unit?

its a 1995.

i was told they have a plastic gear that can go bad in them. cost about 200 in parts.

$600 to have jd fix. but it couldn never fail...just one of those things i guess

1000 hrs.

purchased by small company that buys and sells on an auction site. guy said he bought it from a john deere dealer. so i'm sure it was a trade in

Think the plastic gear is the cam. Had a 445 and 455. I think the frames and maybe the rear ends are all the same on the 425-445-455. I liked the 445 better than the 455. 455 was to heavy on the front end and wouldn't back up a hill with out a weight kit on the rear wheels. Very good units.

for a 95 i would not pay more than 2500- 3000 for it. look hard enough you can find a good newer 445 for simular money. i have a 445 i will be selling with blower cab deck. 950 hours. its a 99. new gear box on deck last summer.

i'm guessing this will go for $2100 with tax and fees.

i'd have to get a different 3-point because my one from the 318 wont fit.

that would be another $400. i'd probably have $200 in parts in fixing some cosmetic things.

i'm not sure about bidding on this.

i bought a 1999 John Deere GT275 48" with kawi 17 hp engine for $1695 so it's probably a good price...the one in the pic has alot of rust on the deck though...mine was still yellow all over with just a few rust spots here or there

put a 3-point on the back.

i have the aerator already.

i have it on on 318 now. was thinking the bigger tractor would handle it better
