Wooden Picket Fence Need Sealant if Painted?

My customer thinks we should seal the picket fence after it's painted white, with white paint that's meant for outdoors. Anyone else do this?

to do it correctly it should be primed first then painted with good quality exterior paint

the paint is the sealer, i assume you talking about a Pressure treat wood fence
