View Full Version : Redmax 7001 blower sounds great

09-16-2002, 08:44 AM
FYI. Just ordered a new 7001 Redmax blower. They are now offering a right hand throttle like the Stihl. I have really missed the one hand operation since purchasing a Shindy. Also the new model is supposed to have over 800 cfm as compared to about 700 cfm for the 7000 model. One other item of note is that the Redmax has a tube from the volute chamber that blows air on the operator to keep him cool. Of course this could be blocked in winter.

It's not on the Red Max site....what the heck is it (the 7100).

What is the difference (besides the throttle) ?

Thanks Dave.

it's one bad machine!

820+ cfm, 215+ mph, etc...

i'll post some pics and specs.

There are also supposed to be air vents through the back pad that allows air to cool the operator while blowing. These can be plugged during winter use.

There is about 15% increase in air flow. I will give a review when I get my unit later this week.

BTW Redmax says they make the motor that Shindaiwa uses in their backpack.

how does this blower compare to the 1200 cfm 640 mph bp by fraden? :D

09-17-2002, 07:57 PM
oops correction...

Max air volume with standard pipe 630 cfm

Max air volume without pipe 855 cfm

Max air velocity 205 mph

Dry weight 21.5 lbs

This is one bad blower!!!

I used it Sunday afternoon. It is great. I love the power and the Right hand throttle. Why would anyone want the Left hand throttle. I will let you know if it seems to get stronger after it loosens up. THanks again for the really great customer service. RPM is the best I have seen.

capt devo

I thought the echopb650 is the strongest on the market?

09-23-2002, 11:18 AM
everyone i've heard compare the echo and the 7000 says no comparison, the 7000 wins.

ow man

Zq8, the mixture is 50:1 Devo, you're right, this is one bad dude!!!!!!!

I've had mine for over a month now - I really like it so far, esp. since I was using just and Echo before.

LGF....sorry Mike, i missed your post.

yup, all the 7000's you got from me this spring are obsolete....lol

you'll have to get new EB7001RH's, email me.....with the quantity you purchase, i'll give ya a hellova deal!!

i can only get the right hand right now, but that could change today.....

The echo pb 650 is definately stronger than the redmax 7000, as for it being stronger than the 7001 I don't know because I haven't used that model yet.

09-25-2002, 07:33 PM
echo pb 650 is definately stronger than the redmax 7000

not any of the echos i've tried, you might want to try an eb7000 again....it blows away the competition!!

and the eb7001rh top them all..

don't believe, try one...you'll be impressed!

I try my redmax 7000 every day and it is strong but not as strong as my pb 650. I have 7 backpack blowers (stihl, echo, redmax) and the pb650 is by far the strongest in the group.

09-25-2002, 07:43 PM
then you better check your rpm's, blower tube or housing, somethings wrong with that picture!

No need to check it out
Lets compare the statistics the echo pb 650 is rated at 210 mph and 650 cfm at the pipe and the redmax 7000 is rated at 200 mph and 530 cfm at the pipe so my pb 650 is rated stronger and it is stronger than my eb7000 blower.

By the numbers the Echo looks stronger- Capt. maybe you needed to check the rpm on your test Echo. PS- Do you SELL Echo equipment? It sounds like your alittle biased towards the redmax IMO

11-24-2002, 10:22 PM
i guess the numbers lie.....

i hear echo had a display at GIE....and the Redmax EB7001RH blew theirs away....at their own display!!!!!

I too thought that redmax had the market for power and it did as of this spring. I recently bought a 7000 and a 650 and the 650 has more direct power but the redmax is easier to manuver in beds, the hose is more flexable. both good units but I can never say that I 've had an echo worth keeping around for more than two seasons.

I don't know about the Echo, but I have been using the 7001 for about 2 weeks and it is great. Starts on first pull, blows great, much more powerful than my Stihl 420.

I like left throttle, since I wear one on my chest and one on my back.

Yes, ladies, 2 blowers at once.

I can change the wind direction.

I have also tried about everything on the market and the Echo PB-650 out blows them all. Not just a little but A LOT!!
My local dealer showed me a comparison between the PB-650 and the EB-7000 and it was unbelievable how much stronger the Echo was. Much QUIETER too at only 71 decibels.

Don't be fooled.....try both before you buy.
