Lawn redo

I have a lawn I will be servicing, this is the problem

They want to have their lawn overseeded due to the drought like weather the grass is brown. they also have a slight sink hole roughly 15 x 4 in the middle of the lawn. The lawn also has some thatch.
What to do?
Can I just overseed the lawn and fill the sink hole with top soil?
I will be using a Bluebird overseeder .
Should I dethatch the lawn then overseed?

On the sink hole I will just fill with topsoil since most of the lawn is brown.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

Yes.

You can do it either way. If it doesn't have to much thatch you can skip the power raking.

just fill with topsoil

I learned a lesson this year about renovating lawns when it is summer and the customer does not have an irrigation system.
I won't do it anymore. If I do again I will maybe get paid upfront and have the customer sign something that states-the only way the renovation will get the desired result is if the lawn is watered properly.
