Hey guys, purchased a new truck today, thought I'd share with you. Its an 06 Dodge 2500 Cummins, automatic, with the Big horn package with 80k miles. Was brought up from Arizona. Wont be taking it home till mid next week but here is a pic I snapped today. I was really wanting an extended cab truck, I loved my Ford, and would have stuck with Ford, except for the fact that any Ford diesel between 03-2010 is unreliable, so I thought I'd try a dodge. Hope it treats me well!

Nice looking truck.Im a Chevy fan really like my duramax but dodge has a bullet proof engine with that Cummins after all the years of using them.

I switched from Ford to Dodge also. Bullet proof. I wished mine was a 4x4. 91xxx and I have replaced one injector, 1 set of tires @ 75xxx and front pads @85xxx. It's a 2500 with a hemi and gets around 20 to 24 mgp. I pull my lawn trailer 5 days a week. Just wished it were a 4x4.

Thanks guys. Krazy and all others with 03-2010 fords.. not trying to knock on your trucks, but the fact thatI dont buy trucks with factory warranty, I want a truck with a good reliable engine and most dodge owners seem to be quite happy with their trucks.

Congrats flairland! Beautiful truck. I have an 06 3500 drw 4x4. I am more then happy with it. Throw some cab lights on her! No doubt you got a great deal! What did you end up doing with your equipment? I remember you had it for sale.

Thanks tss. I actually am planning to put cab lights on some time in the spring, they will finish it off nicely. I did have my equipment for sale, still have the asv and the deere. To be honest, I just list my stuff for sale and if I feel I get ebough for it, ill sell it and look for another deal. So far not too many bites on my equipment but we'll see what happens in the spring. I'd love to end up with a 35D and an RC/PT60.

Nice truck. Did you get rid of your black Ford? I disagree a little on the Fords but know what you mean.:)

As for equipment, feel your pain as stuff just isn't moving.

Thats a nice truck, I switched to Dodge after I got a taste of the 6.0l powerstroke. It took some getting use to not stopping at the filling station as much lol!

Very nice truck. You got the 5.9 cummins without the DPF filter. Very good decision. I unfortunately got an 07 with the DPF which ruins the fuel economy in these trucks. You made a great choice!!!. My truck is great besides the fuel economy caused by the DPF.

5.9 never had a dpf . 2007.5 cummins switched the the 6.7 motor which had a dpf.
dpf=diesel particulate filter

Thanks all, its nice hearing the positive feedback about this truck. A lot of guys in my area are big ford/gm guys, but maybe I can start giving dodge a better name!

I think the greatest 'what-if' scenario would have been Ford using the Cummins...

I had an '06 Cummins and loved the thing...I cut the muffler off mine and straight piped it...she sounded awesome

thats one of the biggest things I miss between that truck and my new Ford

The new 6.7's exhaust sounds like a wet fart. I'll take a straight piped 7.3 or 5.9 Cummins any day.
