Ok this is for home use mainly I'm between the
1. HS 45 STIHL Hedge Trimmer (24 inch)
2.Kawasaki Hedge Trimmer KHT600S (24")

I have found the KHT for 224.00 out the door no tax with shipping. The Stihl is 320 + or - plus tax....

I have a stihl fs 90 and love it but not sure its worth a 100 more for the difference. Anyone have any problem with the KHT

If it's for home use, get either of them, take care of it and it should last forever. Very few people on here will give you an honest unbiased review. Everyone is partial to one brand or another and it usually isn't for any legitimate reason. Like I said though, for home use, you shouldn't ever wear it out or have problems with it. Just make sure to ALWAYS use a fuel stabilizer so you don't gum up the carburetor.

In terms of value kawasaki is better, KHT600D would be better still.

In terms of support stihl may be better, even 20+ years from now parts will be stocked. I consider this more important for something that's going to be used a few hours per year and last forever.

HS45 is made in china I think :dizzy:.

I went with the Kawisaki KHT600 over the Stihl HS45. As you can see all i own is Stihl handhelds. I bought mine off of craigslist for $100.....they were used once by a homeowner

Thanks guys I found the KHT600D for 259 shipping and tax included. So it looks like Kawasaki won out. I will remember to use the fuel stab. for the carb. Thanks again...dave
