I looked at either a new or last months issue of Turf magazine....and had seen a add for a Scag Z rider the one that is styled like Walker....it had a 52" deck and a bagger system I though you could only run a 48" with the bagger unit if that is true this will be next on my list of things to purchase...I have been waiting for this for a while I just cant own a Z with a 48" deck for my residential properties.

Scag Cougar, I imagine. I haven't heard alot of great things about them. I can't go into particulars, but someone on here will be able to tell you what's wrong with them because I've heard quite a few complaints.

Scag cougar comes in 42,48, 52 three bladed decks with the ability to mulch bag discharge w/o tools.
Engines avail. are 25 kohler and 27 kawi liquid cooled i believe
Price $9000+
still cheaper than a walker, good decision never seen one used though.

Cheaper than a Walker and it's that way for a reason. There has to be someone of here that is going to comment on them from personal experience.

Walker charges top dollar for their products especially the JD/ WALKER dealer here. I think the cougar actually lists about $11000 same as the toro model but dealers dont charge that. Walker is priced too high to get into the market here.
TORO 48 ghs/mulching 25 kohler -$8000 (promotion down from $9500)
Walker 16hsp Kohler 42 ghs $9200
42 mulching deck $1800.
Thats $2k more for less hp. I just wouldnt buy one but thats my input from this area at least.

Walker 16hsp Kohler 42 ghs $9200

I think that price is nuts! I remember guys on here talking about their new Walkers and were getting the EFI with at least a 42" for around 9 grand. I don't remember completely what engine it was, not completely certain on the EFI, but it sure seems like I remember it that way. Maybe it was the 20 HP diesel, that might have been it, but that was about 9-10 grand. That 16 hsp should be about $6500. I don't know Walker prices that well, but that's crazy!

I remember reading somewhere here that Walker was coming out with a 52" deck for their GHS mowers. I might wrong, maybe osmeone else out there knows. Try doing a search for Walker and 52" and GHS and see if anything comes up.

i must live in a good market. 20hp 42" ghs with low profile tires is 8200+ tax here.
