I know they are build much better, but I'm just checking to see if its worth the extra couple thousand for the kubota when im going to be putting 900hrs+/year on it

Deer are the most overrated mower on the market period if that mower was painted any other color everyone would due nothing but bash at how cheap it is made

greasing is less often, oil change is less often on kubota(so that could be the one thing that is equal) and hydro change is less often.

never ever even once blown or replaced a belt either on a kubota and we have owned over 10 mowers including 8 ztrs plus tractors. many of which had over 2000hrs on original belts.

everything on the kubota machines is made to outlast and we have seen proof of that (minus the slight hickup on the trannys of the previous series:rolleyes:) over the many years we have owned

hell, even the tires that come on them last twice as long or longer. i have put 1200hrs on original tires and they still had 1/3 or more of the tread on them.

Exmark flat free caster wheels, 5grease points all once a year, Kubota says change hydrostatic every 300 Exmark 500 hrs so if you follow the manufacturer I guess exmarks wins

the spindles on exmark are greaseless?

pg 28 in the manual for exmark indicates a 250hr interval for hydro. the 500 hr number is for it you use their oil. that is more promo for them vs a better oil than mobile1 or amsoil.

kubota is 300hrs.

another benefit for the kubota is the 31hp vs the 25hp in the exmark. that is a huge difference and worth it as i can say that 26hp is really the low end for a 60in, but we are talking 72 here. they need more hp and def more torque.

Why are they so many people that want to bash kubota equipment? Side by side there is no comparison kubota all the way. If they were painted scag orange or deere green all you would hear is how good they are.

I have had x, toro, deere, kubota, scag. I have all exmark right now. I really am not comfortable with the kubota - the way it feels, sit height, bagging options, etc. I would go diesel kubota with an exmark mower.

deere - way over board and in my eyes not even in playing field of these other machines.

I think b/t the two - you will be pleased either way you go. Dealer support is huge I beleive and that should be part of the decsison process. If you plan on keeping mower, go diesel - I have a front mount with kubtoa diesel and that machine will mow some grass!

Exmark - Commercial

Kubota - INDUSTRIAL :weightlifter:

Everything is built stronger on kubota from spindles to double wide deck belts, HST system, motors, frame and deck hangers.

I have had both big toro diesel Z597, Big JD 997 diesel and kubotas are taking over my fleet now due to the way the are built and perform.

Kubota also has flat free caster wheels. I know kubotas my best choice, but if Im going to be putting 1000hrs/year on it, how long is it going to last

Kubota is a superior machine in almost every way. Transmission is a lot better built (oil change interval means nothing other than kubota wants you to take care of your mower), Shaft driven with a gearbox on the mower deck, hydraulic deck lift, double V belt deck belt, bigger spindles and bearings...

No, I would go with the Exmark because of the cut.

I did in fact a few years back.

most who did not like the cut of kubota were not running the newer pro commercial deck.

they had the pro on the zd21,25 and 28. now there is zd200 and zd300 series with por commerical deck and they cut very clean

I think kubota has the best cut in its class (large/high production zturns), and walkers are hands down best cut ever

nice to see so many here that think the same. the diesel models are made to do acreage and tough all day long, year after year. other mowers are not made to the same specs.

they are NOT just another comparible ztr. i think there are many 60 and 72 ztrs that are tough and worthy, but then there is kubotas. class unto themselves for high capacity production of large areas.
