I work in south eastern Virginia, and am figuring on charging $40.00 per 1000 sq. ft. for aeration, seeding and starter fert.

Is this in line with the local and national average?
Do I need to charge more or less?

I'm using my brand new 26" Classen spilt drive aerator, Lesco fert. @ $6.00 per 50 lbs. (50 lbs covers 12-15 K sq. feet) and a local brand of seed @ $44.00 per. 50 lbs. (seeding @ 4-6 lbs per 1 K sq. feet)

Anyone have any suggestions?

In the past I was between $28-$35 per 1000sf. This fall I've been pricing between $32-$38 and getting the jobs so I guess I'm still ok. If you can get the $40 go for it. I probably could, but haven't tried yet.

Thatching = .02 per sq.ft
Aeration = .02 per sq.ft. (yes that is high, but an aerator can be mean to you)
Seed + Fert = .02 per sq.ft.

I get .06 per sq.ft. from every customer I provide the above services to. They may be a bit skeptical at first over the price, but after they see the results, the feel it was worth every penny. AND, a bargain over sod any day of the week.....

Green pastures, .04 cents per square foot and my fertilizer and seed prices are the same as yours. Sometimes a little higher, depending on the neighborhood.
