I've never used a sod cutter. Do they work good and are they fast. We will be throwing the cut grass away and laying new sod down so we don't need to save it. I have always used my mini x with a landscape bucket and it works good but fuel is out ragous and what to see how a cutter would do. The area to be done is 4000 sq. ft. Thanks

They work great easier than hoeing top layer of sod off. Run the sod cutrter around and pick everything up with a pitchfork and clean clipping up with rake. Piece o cake

+1. From my experience they work great. Gets kind of hairy with tree roots that are close to the surface though.

Maybe you can still save your back and load the old stuff into the ex to load into your truck?
