Doing a versa-loc wall at our home.

Four to five courses tall. How much should I bury my first course?

Jodi, is there going to be any load at the top? (load is a slope or pavement at the top of the wall) What type of soils are at the base of the wall. Next is there any water at the base of the wall?

Of course after all this you could bury one block and be fairly safe.

No load at the top. Ground will be below cap level.
Partial clay partial soil.
No water at the base.
He was hoping to bury 2 to 3 inches.

Wow, Paul you are darn quick with that reply. :)
Matt had just left the computer. I had to go ask him.
Thanks,

With no load, no water, and clay soils I'd say 3" minimun 4" would be better.

Thank you. Value your opinions.

If Matt has any other further questions, I'll post them here.
Thanks.

Yeah well you don't know Matt. He's a pretty impatient dude. ;)
BTW, you impresed him. When I went to go get him and tell him he had a reply, he said, "wow, already."
He's in the dining room doing his calculations now.

These walls should be interesting to watch Matt build.
I plan on taking lots of pictures. Will post them here.
