View Full Version : Stone driveway

I have a customer who wants me to install a new driveway for him. It is natural stone and I'm only doing part of it now, because he doesn't want to lay down the bucks for the complete thing, so I have to find more stones to match because the ones that are there are broken up. This thing is a hundred years old so I'm having problems matching them. I have done stone driveways before, but, he wants me to make it thicker underneath so it won't break up again. Any tips on how to do this, you can only use so much concrete.

What kind of stone are you using?

What do you mean by 'thicker underneath?' - do you mean base?

You mention concrete - are the stones mortared to concrete?

The more info you can provide, the better response you'll likely get.
