I had three of those exact trucks they pulled fine. I had a tandem trailer with three pallets of sod on them so that's about a 7000lbs load. It was slow and didn't stop very well but it wasn't hard on the truck and I did it many times. I also went to the dump with 2300lbs of dirt in the back of it, it sagged down pretty good but it drove fine and felt safe to me at least.

Depends. What kind of speeds/grades are you going to be traveling and how much weight do you think you'll have in there? I pull only a 5X10 #2000 rig and it's fine for around town going under 50 because it's most pretty flat here, but she won't go over 55 on a steep grade without standing on the pedal, which I won't do. She's getting it done for me, but if I lived in an area with a lot of hills I'd definitely look for another truck. I can't imagine pulling #7000 with it. It is great for hauling though, I will say. I've had #2000 in the bed more times than I can remember. Plus the old school basic tech 4.2 will run forever if you take care of it, pretty reliable engine.

My wheel barrow can pull more than that.
