Turf Paint

does anyone know how to make a homemade turf paint? i am puttting in the lines for our high school football field for homecomming and i need to know how i can make it or where i can get it. this is a mix that someone told me about:

1 quart non-oil base paint to 2.5 quarts of water.
does this work?

i would try calling some of your local paint shops see what they have or can mix up they would know . and im sure you mite be able to rent a gas powered paint marker

lesco sells turf marking paint in a spray can and a long handle with a wheel that holds the can i think it takes 3 cans to do the soccer field i mow
