how to charge for sod install

hey.
i have a customer that was to sod their front lawn.the lawn is 581sq ft
whats some of the going rates? do you guy charge labor and sod cost or mark up the sod cost 3 or 4 times cost?whats done...im in illinois

Well down here in the South, we usually charge $350 to $400 per pallet of grass. That including taking up the old grass, tilling the ground and installing new grass. Perhap, a layer of topsoil would mean more money. Like a month ago, i install 3 pallets of grass and 3 cubic yards of topsoil for $1250.
