Everytime I cut this one customer's yard I get this orange residue all over the mower and other equipment. Could it be pollen or a fungus? I don't know.

It's a fungus called rust. Does not do a whole lot of dammage but will thin the turf. I cut 3 yards with it today. One of them was mine.

How do you treat it?

Fertilize the lawn. Rust attacks turf, primarily perrenial rye growing under low fertility. You can treat with a fungicide but not really necessary, and collect the clippings when you mow to remove the pathogen.
