Yes, write back and tell him you can't wait to get your hands on his Johnson.

I trade out a lot of work: for a jeep, mower, boat, rifle, flat panel tv, all my promotional printing, signs for my trucks, ..... Barter is good!

IF the boat motor will crank up, it might be a good deal. If it doesn't run, be prepared to invest some $

Plenty of people call me up and ask if I'd like to haul away a "free" boat...NO THANK YOU I say! They strip off the motor & stuff they want to keep & think they can give the hull away. Had a guy call me a few yrs ago, wanting me to haul away a humongous boat up on jacks, it was longer than my house! I was gonna have to cut it up on site-cutting up fiberglass boats is tough work. I quoted him 6k & helped him up after he passed out:laugh:

Misty River made nice aluminum boats in Manitoba (company is gone/merged/conglomerated to death), and a 40 HP Johnson engine is a good engine.

I think the combo is well worth what he's asking! I'd buy it. Does it come with a trailer? Even better.

Tell you what, buy it, and I'll buy it from you for $1550. :)

Inboard boats are money pits. Outboard boats are not. Evinrude/Johnson makes the most reliable motors ever built. I have a johnson 200 on by bass boat. It has 640 running hours on it. It has never cost me anything other then early spring spark plug and fuel filter changes.
