We have a long history of owning gravely equipment. We are certainly not brand blind. Have owned many non gravely mowers over the years and some of them have been very good mowers like the two 36" "original" bobcat classic mowers we had. Our lazer hp in my sig has been great also minus the $hitty exmark spindles.

Anyway I wanted to buy a new bobcat classic 36 and only one dealer had them and they wanted $3600 plus tax. That seemed very high for a gear drive but I was going to pull the trigger anyway because I was tired of the 40 minute drive to what I "thought" was our closest gravely dealer. Low and behold the new house my wife and i just bought has an awesome gravely dealer 2 miles away! Called them up and they had the 2011 36G in stock ready to go for $2990!

I have to admit I am VERY impressed with the build quality of this mower. I am also VERY glad to see Gravely used there head and went BACK to grease fitting on EVERYTHING! The spindles have 2 fittings on each spindle. One for each bearing! Also found out they made it exceptionally easy to replace the spindle bearings. Adjusting the deck is also very easy on this thing.

Some people might remember from other threads on here I keep telling people they are crazy for going hydro on walkbehinds. Yup here is proof that I practice what I preach. It has nothing to do with money. I used gear drives for many many years and NEVER had a problem out of them.

smart man. Gear drive and floating deck wb are the best. In my opinion, hydros are a complete waste of money on a wb, and to me fixed decks suck. What happens when you need to cut one lawn on 2'' and another on 4''. They say "just raise the front". No, that doesnt work, the pitch will be so far off. But anyways good choice on the floating deck

I like it. I own the 10 year old version of that machine and its still running strong. What's up with all those hoses? Emissions? Also your drive system is way better.

I have the hydro version with Pro controls and it is worth very cent of it.Did you notice the pins under the deck to lock it in place.

Yup the hoses are emissions. It has an evaporative canister under the control panel. What it does is instead of the gas cap venting it now recirculates and sends the vapors back into the carb to get burned up.

Yeah I noticed the pins. I actually have not made any height adjustments yet. It came set at 3" and is doing well at that height.

If you use the washers under the pins it is set at 3 1/4. Remove the washers to to drop to 3". Most of my properties I do at 3" but now and then I set it to 2 1/2.
I put the weight kit and the chute blocker on mine.
Here is the other thread we started on this.

Good looking mower. In my opinion Gravely is making the best mowers out there nowadays. I would love to have a 36" like that to go with my 152 proturn.

damn that thing is identical to the new john deere walkbehinds!

That is because the J.D. walkbehinds are built by Gravely/Ariens, but painted green for J.D.

I really like riverside. It is triple shredded I think. I like finely shredded mulch. Are you in Fairfax VA?

I would never buy a belt driven machine again... its tough enough to make decent money mowing even with quality built exmark 60 52 36 and 26, having to shift with a belt driven machine would slow my crews production down tremendously.

Good luck with your gravely more power to you sir!

LOL that poor trimmer is 6 years old and used daily and still runs like a top. Has not had an air filter on it for at least the last 4 years. I run my stuff on 80:1 amsoil saber and regular gas.

Get you some Fastraps for your trailer so you will not beat up that new paint. I just bought the 61" Prowalk. I'm very happy with it, but I hate the tires and narrow wheels they put on the back.

Nice mower,
