I just picked up a commercial/industrial account which is over 4 acres...oh ya the grass was literally 4.5ft tall and thick! I used a 60" 2011 grandstand on it and it worked great!!! Too bad it was only a demo mower and i had to return it:cry:

Any problems with scalping? Did you run it on hills?

No problems at all with scalping... I used it on a very steep hill during rain storm and still no problems...(No I don't usually cut during rain but this was a industrial prop where it didn't matter)

how does it perform? the 60in?

looks like it has wide enough tires in the rear, so as not to scalp side to side. i like the bigger gas tank, my 24hp will eat thru its gas tank in one day. i would like to see a bigger engine than a 26hp though for it, seems underpowered for hard use on anything but flat land.

I think the tires are the same as what is on the 48's and 52's. Scag uses the 26hp on their V rides so maybe it is enough hp. Am concerned about the pumps getting hot. Over time won't that shorten the life of wheel motors, pumps, etc.

These grandstands only go 8mph, whereas the Skag goes 11mph. What do you think?

Will be demoing a 52" 24 hp Vantage in a week or so. Really hope I can get the hang of a stander vs. my Turf Tracers. Am a bit skittish about getting one of these. Am concerned with the longevity of some of the components after 2500 hours, etc. especially in light of Grassman's comments about the pumps getting hot. Also, wished they had a canister air filtration system.

I have a 48 grandstand. Went from a 48 TTHP and I wouldnt have a wb again. You will love it from the gitgo. It is easy on the turf and far better than the sulkies and Proslides. The speed of 8 mph on a 48 is fine but on a large machine I want speed. My only complaint about the stand ons is slower speeds. Im thinking the components are pretty much the same as on the WBs.
