Hey guys,

I have an 09 TTHP 36"(Approx 250 Hrs) that is having some issues. When I fire it up it seems to be running like normal. However, when I engage the blades it has a loss in power to the point it runs slow and can't cut. This has happened in the past, but new plugs corrected the problem. New plugs did not do the trick this time. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

you know, I have a 52" 20 hp, and it's done the same thing, I have tried messing with the High idle adjustment, the hydro speed adjustment and it always seem to slow down

not trying to hijack though, you might have coil going bad

If it is a dual cyclinder you may have one cyclinder out....ignition coil.

Hess and Butt,

My 60" 20 hp kohler was doing similar things. Mechanic foung choke cable out of adjustment. The choke was partially engaged all the time. Mower ran ok but was blackening height adjustment a little and would not turn high lift blades.

Good Luck,
Tim

Call the shop I use. 859-341-0800 - Mike (aka bubba) is the best I know. He normally can diagnose it over the phone.

Update: I had to take it in to have it looked at and it was the coil. Luckily, I was told most or all of the cost will be covered under warranty. I did have a chance to take out a 60" 27hp lazer and it was pretty sweet.
