View Full Version : Honda Transmission Pooched---HELP?!!

After only two years, my Honda 21" commercial is done like dinner. Some string wrapped around the back axle and worked its way ito the hydrostatic transmission. Everything else on the mower works like a charm. My shop wants $800 (CDN) plus labour to replace it. Can't F'n justify that when a new mower is $1400.
Anyone else ever had this problem? Solutions??? Thx guys.

could you find a used honda, and strip it for parts? if so that might be a good way to get that transmision cheaper if you are mechanical enough.

Whoa, $800?! I think you should find a new shop! Same thing happened to me (similar) and they only charged me about $260 for it.
