View Full Version : Kawi Engine Warranty

This week I had to get a new carb put on my Snapper Pro 21" mower with the kawi engine package. My dealer stated that the carb wasn't covered under the warranty program. This machine is 11 months old. Everything that I have found and read states that Kawi has a 2 year warranty on thier engines. Am I wrong in thinking that the carb is covered?

If there is any sign of corrosion or bad seals Kawi will just blame it on the fuel you use.
Pretty tough to say there was a defect in the carb after it worked fine for 11 months

working at a dealer, i can tell you that we no manufacturer will cover a carb issue

carb is part of the engine isn't it?

That was also my thought. But I do understand where a dealer comes from because even with the warnings of running the right octane weight (premium) and mixing the oils right the alot of the commercial guys are the cause of the problem. I will say not all are but most are.

My dealer did a warrnaty replacement on the carb for a 23hp Kawi (along with some other items related to fuel) when the engine had ~40 hrs on it. Then again it was shooting flames out the back like an F-18 in full afterburner stage. :)

Heard from the Kawi people today. No warranty on the carb.
