Nice stuff, can't go wrong with Echo... replace that toro trimmer with a SRM-260 or the like and you will be good to go. :)

I can't help but ask why you need two full sized trucks?

I got the toro Free when I purchase the Zero this year, its OK but I like the Echo Better, I bought the F350 2yrs ago for snow removal and I keep the F150 around for a back up truck. Thanks for looking

The work pic from this week

looks like the pics are from jan 2008, not this week LOL

how many lawns do you do with the timecutter and how well does the timecutter stand up to being used commerically? Reason I ask is because I use an Ariens Zoom 42" which is also from Home Depot and it is handling 40 lawns a week pretty well

Yea I dropped my camra way too many times and now it won't let me change the date. I do 12 weekly lawns and 3 bi-weekly lawns. The Timecutter is ok, It's not like the commercial ones but gets the job done. This is my first year in business and I did not want to invest that much right away in equipment and not have the funds to pay for it and go out of business before I even get started.

How do you like the Ariens Zoom 42"?

I love it. It's my first zero turn. I did a lot of research before buying and I found that the zoom isn't much different than gravelys or commerical zero turns of similar size. It has a 22 horse power kohler engine. That's the same engine that's in many commerical zero turns this size. I was looking for a mower this size because at 42" it is small enough to fit through all my back gates and it is still big enough and fast enough to knock out the bigger lawns. It has 3 blades and 4 anti-scalps wheels so scalping is never a problem even though it is a fixed deck. It is pretty good on gas, doesn't weigh much so is easy on the lawns and easy to tow. Tires are wide enough at 8.5 inches to not rut up lawns. I did install a mulch kit. Got the mulch kit slightly used off amazon for $45... well worth it. Best part is I got 10% off because home depot was offering a special when you apply for a home depot credit card you get 10% off your first purchase. So it ended up only being around $2100. I didn't have a lot of money to spend because i'm in college

You may want to add a asterisk to the price for the size lawn that $25 covers. The people in GR tend to be hagglers.

What areas do you cover in GR ? Did you cut for someone before you started? what up Calvin!

Hey Calvin,
How have you been, how is business going?

That sure is true, it seems most of the time they look for the lowest price possible and not quality, That is why it says "lawn care starting as low as" that for lawns less than 1/4 of an acre.

Hey Power,

Its going good, working on getting those accounts lined up for this year. Just cut up a tree that fell into my yard with all the wind we had last week. Got a lot of stuff lined up yet or no?

Calvin.

That is also a pic of the backpack blower rack I built over the week end also.
I spent about $55.00 on the gate assist and $20-25 on the blower rack, That is only a fraction of what the big names wanted for theirs . More pics to come.

Hey Calvin,

Business is doing great I am geting 2-3 calls per day for estimates. I am getting a lot of new customers, I just picked up 3 new seasonal customers over the weekend. They were all new snow removal customers I pick up last year. I have a couple spring clean-ups to do this week including reg mowing routes. Next week I have a mulch job. Looks like this is gonna be a good year.
How business going for you.

It's going good. I didn't gain any more lawn care customers than last year. I dropped the bad ones and picked up hopefully better ones. I have been super busy, doing spring clean ups and mulch. I am hoping that I can keep building a client list through out the year. Seems like all the calls, I have been getting this past week is cheapskates though.
