Looking to purchase a new trimmer and am interested in the Honda 35cc 4-stroke. Anybody run them and if so what do you think? Worth the $379 or stick to a 2-stroke such as as Redmax or the Jonsered trimmers I've had great luck with? Thanks for your input.

you can get the 25cc for $299...it's what i use...great trimmer...either one...lots of torque...the 35cc weighs a bit more.

It is a big trimmer, it is heavy. But if you want power, you got it. I have the HHT31SUNBA which is the older 31cc trimmer. It is very quiet. You can't get any other 35cc trimmer for that price. It's a Honda, Does Honda make anything bad yet?

Get a Speed Feed head and replace the original head. That is the only thing I complain. The stock head don't have a divider so you have to wind with one of your finger between the two strings to avoid it cross. If you dont' do that, you likely would make the string bind. Once you use the Speed Feed, you never look back.

I'm having all kinds of problems with my stilh trimmers. Since going 4 stroke...geez. I've been using Stihl for over 25 yrs and just this past week I've started to think I may have to look at another brand. Will look into the honda 4 strokes if I can find a dealer nearby.

If you are looking at a 25cc trimmer, I would go with Husqvarna 324L series. Their 4 stroke engine is same Honda GX25. I believe you have solid shaft and more option on different accessories. Husqvana is lighter for one, and they are know to be very rugged. Don't know the Husky head though, someone might be able to say more about the head.
