FYI, just got my new Turf Mag and noticed Deere will have the machine at the GIE Show. They don't have a picture on the website, but I checked the build and price section and they have it listed there. It is a mid mount with 60 or 72 inch deck and the the 29 horse DFI Kawasaki. Too much as far as list price, but interesting.

Yeah i just visited deere's website, no pictures or descriptions yet, though the have the build and price on there. Just for a 60inch L.C. deere is like $10,000 list price on the website, man alive and people talked about how expense Scag is, 61inch Turf Tiger LC is like almost $9000 i think.
Would like to stick with Deere green but they are always too expensive, nice equipment and service just $$$ is the problem.

I saw a new 797 with 72" deck today {posted about it, didn't see this post}. Nice looking mower, didn't get to demo it, but want to soon. Deere doesn't have any literature out about it that I can find. If you like the new 757 series, you'll like this mower.

Sounds like this is a beefy mower by Deere, almost like a Sabre Tooth TT from scag. Not in the market to buy any more now, just bought one last year, but im still a deere man deep down, just the price of these mowers they make are soo expensive. They are big enough of a company cant they bring their prices down some to the competition level. I know they do market research and such, just feel if they would lower price some they'd get more buyers cause i havent seen a single Deere ZTR rider in this area, and their are Deere dealers around the area.

My local Deere dealer recommends and sells my Bob-Cat ZTR's over the Deere line. He says he may sell 1 or 2 a year. They do huge amounts of business and are able to beat MSRP's by quite a bit too.

Also if you look, you'll realize that Deere ZTR's are green and yellow Great Danes with 7 Iron decks.

I agree, John Deere is just too high for what it is and an honest dealer with another line will tell you so too.

In my area deere is about the same price as everyone else.

Are these Great Danes, or are they the Yazoo-Keyes, the same mower that Husqvarna is using? I must have missed something here.

Runner, Deere bought Great Dane and Husky bought Yazoo-Kees.

As far as pricing goes, if you think the Deere is expensive stay out of the Dixie Chopper and Walker showrooms. My Dixie has a list of $10,800. I got mine for $8,700 plux tax.

I bought my JD 757 with 60" deck for $9200. I think the John Deere's are priced competively with any other brands, at least thats the way it goes in my area. I looked at Dixie Chopper and Grasshopper the only other brands that have dealers in my area, and the were actually more than John Deere. But price wasn't the issue, the John Deere dealer has better service.

Asked my dealer about the new 797 today, he said they'll be available around the first of the year. He also quoted me some prices - 797 with 72" deck $10200.00, with 60" deck $9800.00, 757 with 60" deck $7800.00. Who says Deere ain't competitve on their prices? A 797 with the new 29 DFI liquid-cooled Kawasaki and 72" deck at $10200.00 sounds like a good price to me.

Who would have thought we'd ever want to give $10,200 for a lawn mower!!! :dizzy:

If you think 10,200 is alot just be glad you don't need a wide area mower. The JD 1600 batwing finish mower comes in at 46,000. Who ever thought that we would spend more on a mower than our truck's.
