I was just wondering about there fescue prices. Anyone recall what they paid?

I have some prices on Shenandoah II, Coyote, Falcon III, Falcon II, Tar Heel, Dominion, Wolfpack, Arid 3, Airlie, and Southern Choice.

Most are $1.25 per lb. or less.

Can I save and/or get better seed at Lesco?

Ouch, that's alot to shell out for junk!

Does anyone know where I can get the latest fescue quality ratings on-line? Perferably tests for NC or nearby.

It's a blend of 40% Rembrandt (#1 ranked in NTEP trials) 30% Masterpiece (#2 ranking) and 30% Picasso (not yet submitted for trials).
I used to use Lesco Transition and I got better germination with the Lebanon and the grass is a deeper green which I find more attractive. Shemin sells it for .80/lb.

What you are talking about sounds good. I will see if I can find it locally. I put in a lot of calls today. I didn't have anyone mention any of those seeds though. But I did get some other prospects and some I never heard of.

As for the Lesco Transition Blend, I stopped by Homo Depo to do a little pre-trip to Lesco research. Frankly, I wasn't impressed. I found 3 different blends of seed on the tags for the Transition. One of them had the 3 listed above for the Teamates. That doesn't give me much confidence in there products. The fertilize looked ok though.

At this point I'm favoring giving some business to my local seed dealers. I've even been thinking of making my own blend. I'm not 100% on anything yet. But I am seriously thinking of starting some seeding tomorrow.
