well it was kind of a rain/snow day today. so i didn't work but... as i was driving around to day i drove by a grage sale and they had a used blue bird thatcher. so i stoped and looked at it. they wanted 350 bucks for it, it runs great but it didn't come with flail reel blades on it. so i picked it up. tell me i got a good deal, cuz i know they retail for like 900.

That doesn't sound too bad

I bought an old Kees (w/flail blades) with a near new Techumse engine for $200 from a neighbor a few weeks ago. Going to put it to work next week.

I might get a slicer shaft for it so it will work for incorperating seed better. Just a thought

how hard is it to replace blades on that?

I don't know about changing the individual blades,(cant be too tough) I am going to try for a whole different with the slicer blades, that way I can change back just by switing shafts.

I think the shafts can be changed by unbolting the bearing at each end and the whole unit drops out the bottom.

I'm not sure on this as It's just an "idea" right now.

Hey i ran into the same kinda deal about 2 months ago, it was in Trade & Times it was a Blue Bird and it had the 5 hp Honda engine on it and a bagger, The lady bought it at an auction and had it two years and used it twice. She wanted 199 dollars for it and the thing was like brand new so i grabed it. :D

Capt, Devo,

Hey, do you know anything about the old "E-Z Rake" brand, and is there any other slicing attachment available for those? I have two of the older models, and they both have the spring tine attachments.

I got a bluebird lawn comber with flail blades and bagger with 6hsp robin engine for $50. I got the aerator for $200. All i did was clean the carbs on both and they paid for themselves in a days work.
