Man thats a nice machine! 5999.99 is a great price! Let me know how it does on hills as I want to replace my walkbehinds but need to handle the hills here in NH.

Nice...what do you keep in those racks to keep the trimmer from swimming (moving in every direction possible) in the rack??? I have the same one.

Bungee cords. I dont like the rack because they do move around but I hope to get a new one sometime.

A box meant for the bed of a truck from Harbor Freight.

I've only tried it on one hill but it worked pretty good.

Nice mower man, what made you decide to get the vantage instead of a turf tracer or something?

Them the lowes utility racks? I have the same set. I modified mine though. At first I took a 2x2 deck spindle and some pipe insulation and gorilla taped it to the back of the rack. It fit perfectly.

Over the winter I relocated the holes and cut off the xtra useless material. I also cut them off just above the middle spot since I didn't need three spaces. I used the piece I cut off to make a holder for my handheld blower. I also added a trimmer line spool holder.

Those weren't really designed exclusively for trimmers, but with a little modification, they can work really well. Plus for 60 bucks, you can't beat it!!

Question, what are deck spindles...as in mower deck spindles or something else?

BTW I ran the Toro counterpart of that mower yesterday...WOW those things are awesome. I was dumbfounded at how precise the hydros are.

The Vantage was cheaper then the turf tracer because it was on sale for $5999! I just liked the Vantage better.

Mike

I meant deck spindles as wooden spindles on a deck that would be on a deck that hangs off a house for the hand rail. I just built my deck when I did that so its what I had. It is just as easy to take a drill and put a new hole for the pin then cut off the extra material with a metabo or portaband. It looks a whole lot cleaner too. Pm me if you want some pics. I don't want to completely hijack this thread with it!!!

Nice mower and a good buy at <$6k. It will really save you time and energy, and from my experience it does great on hills as long as you stay on the platform. They're traction limited when you use them as a wb.

hows the power with that? The Wright I recently bought is also a 48" but has the 24hp on it and it seems adequate, but I dont think I'd want any less.

The power is fine. I have not had any problems with power.
