Well I have been waiting along time for this day. I finally went out a bought a dump truck. Its a 2003 Ford F-350 With a 7.3. Extended cab. 196,000 miles. I traded a small landscaping job and cash for the truck!! Let me know what you think!! Also threw in some pics of it working on the first day!!

Thats for sure!! I got two other diesels with the 7.3's and one has over 400K!!
I still cannot believe that it runs. It was one of my everyday trucks, but now it is getting replaced by this new truck.

Lookin' good! I used to have that truck and setup Only difference was mine had sides on the dump. I hated only being able to haul max 3 yards and having almost a yard gone by the time i was ready to lay the mulch...
Just upgraded to a bigger truck....better for plowing and more capacity to haul and tow.
May i ask you approx. how much you paid for it?

I got a crazy good deal on it. I layed down 5 yards of mulch and $4500 cash and got the truck. Currently we are negotiating on a skid loader as well. Lookin to add another one to the company. It would be the next size up from what I already have. The skidder is an S300 with every option and 400 hrs

Ya well I traded a small job and cash, so it really turned out nice. The box is actually an orangish red. It's hard to tell but it has a pearl dust in it. The dump has literally no scratches on it. The truck has sat for the last 5 years as a cab and chassis only. The guy put the dump box on in spring of '09 so the box it almost new.

Thought I would maybe bring this back to the top. I had mentioned early in this thread that we were negotiating on a skid loader as well. Well we figured out a deal and i got the skidder, trailer and all the attachments as well. Grapples, Snow Blower, Forks, Bucket. Never did put the boss plow on yet or the tailgate spreader. Found a different truck to do the same job. This truck is mainly used in the summer for our bigger jobs, and also during the winter for snow removal and pulling the skidder around.

The skid looks to another great addition!

What did you do to get the bobcat? That truck is worth 15 grand and the bobcat is worth 30 grand. Plus a 2 grand trailer and another 10 grand of attachments. Is the guy selling it to you like bankrupt????

Heres the deal on the skidder. He originally bought it from my buddy when he went bankrupt for 20k. He paid for what my buddy owed on the machine. That was a few years ago. Since then he has never used it!! I paid all cash for the skidder, attachments and trailer. Ended up paying $27,500 for the entire skidder set up. Not bad at all!!! When we talked he made me the offer of just paying him what he has into it and then its a done deal. So right away I said deal. Gotta a hell of a deal on it. Gold package, high flow, turbo, every option possible!

That certainly is a good way to get a discount. Whats the mileage on your 7.3's? A friend of mine just got a 7.3 350, same year as yours, and he's been complaining about the mileage. Spending $175 to fill it up, and getting about 500 km's to a tank, while the guys with 6.0's are getting 750km to a $120.

Its ranges on my trucks. My dump gets about 17mpg at best but then my 1999 crew cab will get 20-22mpg, same with my other 2002's. none have any aftermarket stuff on them motor wise. My 6.4, thats a different story, i get about 14-16mpg, not matter what. Not impressed at all. My 7.3's will be getting exhausts and cold air intakes pretty soon, just expensive to do em all at once :dizzy:

Its a J-Craft. Has fold down sides and everything, just what i was looking for. I was looking to find another dump, until I found a good deal on a dump trailer. Really would like to add a single cab dump to the lineup :weightlifter:

Ya, wanted to bring the skidder with the brush hog, but it was a little to wet for that, plus i would have had to mow it again after i went through with the skidder so i just mowed over each side a couple times with the 445. Crazy thing about this job is that the owner is 96 years old and still lives at home. Up until last year he push mowed that entire driveway :dizzy: hopefully I can last that long!

Yeah, I can't wait until I get a skid steer someday, to have access to it like you do. I could always rent one but it has to be sweet to be able to have one anytime you need it.
That's awesome that he still lives at home, and that he mowed it that long.:weightlifter:

I used to rent quite a bit, but turned out to be a better investment for me to buy. I bought my S250 Brand new in 07, then bought the S300 last summer

Looks like a super nice truck...put some higher sides on there so you can haul more. Otherwise there's no point in having a dump truck :)

Definately, try to decide if we wanna make it fully enclosed for our fall clean ups or not, would be nice but also a PITA if we wanted to use it for something else. Either way we will be adding taller sides to it

Yeah, right now I don't rent it a ton so I can't quite justify buying one quite yet, but hopefully I can someday.
