Hi Guys,
New member from Massachusetts looking for help.

I leveled out parts of my lawn this spring with 7yrds of topsoil. I now have what appears to be an invasive grass flourishing in the new topsoil and I'm concerned that it might be Bermuda Grass.

Can you help me identify this from the attached picture?

Not sure what it is, but I'm very sure that its not bermuda.

Looks like young crabgrass, to me.

Well that's good news, I can handle crab grass!

Thanks for answering.

I think it is either crabgrass or dallisgrass. Easiest way to tell the difference is to let it go to seed (in a pot away from the lawn). The seed heads are very different...

Looks to be to light in color for Dallis-grass.....I'm pretty sure it's crabgrass

Crabgrass. Drive does a nice job on it at this time of year. Don't wait for it to get big and tough. Be ready to spray drive again if needed. Use a surfactant.

I would lean more toward Johnson than Dallis but it is young. First thought was crab grass too
