What were you runnung before ? I love our 11 D max so far. 15k on it and no problems and will run circles around any 7.3,6.0 or 6.4

I have an 07. I like it but no more pick ups for me. They are scratch & dent magnets!

When your chevy hits 500K like on most 7.3 then your statement will be relevant ...

Thanks but I still have 3 7.3 trucks and they have there share of problems too. Rusting oil pans ,cps, rusting fuel tanks , h pops . I wanted to try a new Chevy due to all the problems we have with the Fords. And as I said so far so good. My Ford dealer last week had 34 trucks waiting for thier diesel tech so I had to wait till this week to put my 07 in again.

I have rusty oil pans but you can't mock one of the best diesels made. The duramax maybe the flavor for the time but don't count Ford down the 2011 and new diesels are made by for ford code name scorpion.

Spend some time over at the dieselstop.com they are having thier fair share of problems. There was a 2011 450 in my dealers shop for the last 2 weeks waiting for a new motor. It only had 33k on it. One of the local mulch places has a 2011 that has been in the shop 3 times since april 1. The oil pan issue is not just as simple as replacing just the oil pan, you must pull the motor from the truck to replace it which makes it a 2k repair.Hopefully ford does get it right with the new 6.7 but I wont touch one till they have become a proven motor. Now days for the price of a 550 diesel dump you can spend a few k more and buy a freightliner that will make it past 100k.

I visit my share of forums one guy praises a motor, another swears at it..
My mechanic just did an oil change on a 7.3 powerstroke 500K miles and comes in for JUST an oil change...
And whats funny is my mechanic is die hard chevy and he's looking at Ford truck to buy..Go figure.

Maybe one day you can afford a diesel. It might even be the coveted 7.3 litre.....

Gold I'm leaning towards the 7.3 anyways . I love the body style on the early 2000 F250's

7.3l - i agree bulletproof, my dad's shop had a tow truck with one it was a stick shift but that thing fell flat on it's face sometimes.
it was then replaced by a gmc c4500 LMM duramax (2008) blows the ford off the street.

if you can find a low mileage 7.3l never get rid of it anything else don't touch it. cummins you can't go wrong but it is a dodge. and the duramax LBZ engine was probably the best made.
