i swear i come accross the weirdest people and deals on things!
went on a call yesterday with the police dept. neighbor complained about a cube van parked blocking view of a stop sign. i go over to check it out. van is parked on side of a bar, the owner uses it as storage. he starts he right up and moves it back away from the corner. well we are chatting and he says to me arent you the cop that owns the lawn company. i said yes and he says this van would be perfect to make a lawn/landscape maintenance truck out of. he says i sell it to you for $300.00

my wife would kill me, if i bought it. its actually in pretty good shape, mechanically its strong, V8. nuthin a case of beer and a quick painty job cant fix

I was just thinking that. could even put some work into it, put a ramp on it and some trimmer racks inside and turn around and sell it reasonably cheap for a hefty profit. someone just looking to get into the lawn business would be all over that.

Better get it off the ground and see what the brakes look like. I would be afraid to drive it, seeing it's been setting for so long.

Thats awesome! I thought about doing the same thing in a few years. It would be better than pulling a trailer all of the time! For $300 you could probably even sell it again as is for $1000.

we run a few cubes just about the same year and here is what you need to look at what engine is it? .....ours have 460CI and they get about 8-9 mpg what size rims are on it ours is 16.5" and they stoped making production rubber and all the new ones will run $200+ until supplies run out then you will have to convert them over to 16" rimsavalible on any old ford ton truck or they cost about $1000.00 a set plus rubber. You can build a flat gate directly off the opening of the door and you will be off and running . its worth 500 in scrap so if it has a title do it. I have converted them if you want pics

Yesterday i was out and saw a guy mowing a commercial with a van like that. I think it would be a good idea especially of you are cutting commercial property s since they would not take as much room up in parking lots. You should buy it and if you dont use it you could always scape it and make more than 300 bucks on it.

You will need to be prepaired to spend some money on the gate we built a full height and width gate and we had 500 bucks in it . 300 in materials and the rest labor

the one thing we would do different is use wire mesh instead of 1/2" plywood
and i would recomend you making a split gate. ours have plywood and they wish it was a split at the end of a long day. butthen again a walker mowers 3rd wheel would not like the split so who knows the best way

will get pics of the door this weekend.
