Hey Guys!
I'm new in the biz, started this summer. I'm thinking about getting a lawn vac like a Billy Goat. Are they any good? Can you vacuum wet leaves too? How much would you charge to do a yard?

Thanks for the help!

Do you have a real lawn mower?

These types are slow heavy and bulky pain in the rears.

i dont know if its just me, but they are just useless. I tried a simplicity once, and it took forever to get anything done. I have never even seen a LCO out there using a lawn vac. Your best bet is use a back pack blower, and a walkbehind blower and blow the leaves into the woods or have them sucked up. Save your money and buy a good walkbehind blower over a lawn vac.

I like my billy goat
will pick up wet leafs-slower than when dry

I have never seen one of those walkbehind blowers in action.
Are they worth the $ or should I just stick with my back pack blower.

I would say any good vac system that goes on a commercial ZTR will outperform a walkbehind vac any day. Tight areas can be blown into the open with a backpack blower, then chop and suck them up with the mower. Personally, I've yet to see a need for a walkbehind vac versus what I already have to work with.
