Mine went up $40 a ton for dry. Liquid is still the same.

You might try Winfield Solutions if they're in your area.

funny, my wife works for a major dealer in the Northeast and Fert prices are LOCKED in 1+ year prior, by there buyers.

I am still paying the same as last year. I need to buy urea now for the fall. $12.50 a 50 lb bag (46-0-0)....No pallet needed..I can by a train car for cheaper if needed!!!

Dealers are over charging here if they have a good supplier.

im sure thats the case bx,
buts theres 2 many fingers in the pot,
and im sure product is only sold based on
replacement cost

i still dont fully understand the deal with turfcare supply tcs,
has anyone purchased direct from them?

at first i heard they were going to sell to end user with a growmark or growstar label, and then i heard they had to wait out contracts
some large distributors, then the contacts suposedly run out and
then were renegotiated or something

i only hear this info all 2nd hand so who knows

Turfcare makes JDL's fert. I'm sure they have a contract/ no-compete in place.

Josh, you are correct, they will not sell direct, all they do is refer you JDL.

I have not been on here for a long time but kinda chuckled when I still see posts about fert prices increasing.

The writing is pretty much on the wall!

Fert is looking like it will be heading to the 2008 price range as of now.

NOT GOOD!

Just in the last 60 days I have watched some fert go up over $2.00 a unit and it isn't done yet!

In 2010 I prepaid my 28-0-0 for the farm at $180 a ton. Right now I can prepay and lock it in for $395 a ton.

What does that tell ya????

Seen this many times! The increase always show up on the ag side as the lawn side is slightly behind due to volume movement.

There may still be a few good prices out there but you better get them now because NOBODY can hide from these increases.

:)

Agrium controls the n, p, and k. All increases are due in no small part to them. Also due to China, as they are buying up more and more product. Simple supply and demand plus a monopoly (agrium).

Well yeah, but the underlying factor is having to feed almost 7 BILLION people. Modern Ag requires huge amounts of fert and energy to produce our food. As far as I can tell, the only thing that will change this equation is economic collapse, and that's too scary to even think about.

Have faith my friend...Obama can get us there.
Then maybe those fert prices will be reasonable, eh:)

That's right, I forgot everything was Obama's fault. :)

I took in a small load of the TCS Growstar labeled fert this year through Helena Chemical. The price, quality, and results were good. As I understand it the TCS products are available through Helena, Matrix, JDL, and Agrium (I'm sure there are others). I was told we can get a custom blend from TCS with a 5-ton minimum order through any of these distributors, except for JDL as they want a full load only on custom blends.
