View Full Version : Identifying Sedge Type

How can you determine the specific type of sedge when there is no flowering present? All I am seeing in this instance is the common, three-ranked leaves. I have noticed that the tapered tip is longer, so I believe that rules out Purple Nutsedge. Any help?

Tapered would indicate yellow.

I agree, Yellow Nutsedge would be the most common type. What about others such as Globe, Texas, Cylindric, or False Nutsedge? How do you rule those out?
