View Full Version : Scag Belt Tensioner problem

My Belt keeps slipping and i Know its because of this Latch thing that goes underneath the pulley onto the spacer. It won't stay! I don't know if Im missing a spring or what. I looked in the operators manual and cannot find a thing! Can anyone help? Heres a picture:

What's the model of your Scag WBH? Post it and I'll do a little looking.
I'ts been a while since I've had a Scag in the shop and my rememberer isn't the best but judging from your picture alone, I believe you have to maintain belt tension by tightening the idler arm rod only(on your particular model).
I seem to remember some Scags having long idler springs but the models don't come to mind.

Looking at the Operators manual it says its a Model SW Model number 70087. Let me know if you need more details.

I think we are looking at the idler arm and the adjusting screw. Turn the nut CW until the belt feels tighter.
