I think it is around 360 to 385 horses. they told me--don't remember. All I know is i'm still on cloud nine!!!!! Right now I'm getting right at 14 mpg which is a lot better than 7 mpg I'm getting out of my 1988 Chevy crew cab dually!!!!!!! The tough job is going to be keeping my wife from driving it!!!!!

Sounds like a cool truck. I'm partial to diesel myself, but it would be cool to say, "I have a hemi". And hey, 14 mpg out of a gasser with that much power, ain't nothing to complain about!
Enjoy the truck.

There are some Dodge truck owner websites I browse from time to time. I read that one 1500 Ram with a hemi did a 1/4 mile in about 15 seconds. Car mags also say that it feels faster than its specs.

I tested 3 of them. One 3/4 ton 4x4 auto, and two 3/4 tons with laramie 5 speeds. Great power, andspeed, and sound. Nice colors too.

I smoked a new Hemi Magnum in my '99 F350 V10. The son of a close friend of mine got one as a college graduation present, and started talking smack one night, so we decided to see if it REALLY was all that. I got the answer I was looking for. I will agree, they sound good and look good, but they definitely AINT the Hemi of the past! Dodge is just capitalizing on the name.

Built an FFR 65cobra that does 0to60 in under 4sec and I wouldn't care to race this 2003F350 quad cab 4x4 with a Banks slapped in it! He does an 11second 1/4mi and if you notice he waited a full second before launching! A diesel with a tuner chip pkg will absolutely waste any other thruck on the road and pull 600 to 1000fpt out it's bum :D

Yup, the 6.0 PSD's are a truly awesome machine with a few mods done to them. That's a great video clip! I would have loved to see the look on the RX-7 drivers face when he got passed! By the way, the reason the truck waited a second to launch is because that was a bracket race. They run based on their "dial ins". You decide what you think your vehicle can run, and write it on your window. The car with the slower dial in gets to leave first. It sounds a bit one sided, but it really is a pretty evenly matched form of racing. That race on the video was two vehicles that are totally mismatched, and in class racing, they wouldnt be racing together. I used to drag race, so I'm very familiar with this. Very cool truck, though!

There's a second video of a white 7.3L doing a high 10. He absolutely spanks the viper who did an average mid12

That truck is a older model (pre-97) with a Cummins and twin tuboes. His "name" is Maddog and he is pushing alot of power with addons.

A PS could never handle that much power.

Yeah, I noticed that it was a Pre 97 truck after I watched the video a couple more times. You are wrong about the PSD engines not being able to handle that kind of power though. I know of SEVERAL low 12 and mid 11 second trucks that have modded 6.0 Powerstrokes. Theres even a 6.0 PSD powered truck being prepared to run on the Nascar truck circuit.

PS truck to run the NCTS? Where'd you get that information from. NASCAR only has four engines approved to run in the series, and the PS isn't one of them. Tell me more. My father in law is a Nascar inspector, so I'll get the skinny from that direction too.

Saw this on one of the Nascar shows on ESPN a couple of months ago. They were showing the truck during testing, but I cant remember who the driver was. If you can find out anything about it, pass it on, as I would like to know more about it myself! Best I can remember, it hadnt been approved yet, but they were working on it.

Now they have a PSD sponsored truck, but it MUST run the Nascar approved Ford gas block.

Hmm, after doing some checking just now, I think I may have this whole Nascar thing all wrong. There is a truck that is SPONSORED by Powerstroke Diesel (Ford), but it is not powered by a PSD engine. I think that may have been what I was watching (sometimes I just half ass watch things on television) while they were testing a few months ago. I couldnt feature Nascar letting a turbodiesel run in a class that is only allowed normally aspirated engines. Sorry for the mix up.

Theres a stroke running 11.40's or 10.40's, saw it the other day online, its one of the faster ones.

I bought a 4 year old Dodge 1500 Sport 4x4 with the 360 and only 38000 miles on it. I bought it from my sister in law, she teaches 8th graders. I can't imagine anyone babying the truck more than she did. At 39k the rear axle was grenaded. I had to replace everything from seal to seal. After making a big stink Dodge made me pay $500 and they picked up the rest of the tab(about $2k).
Ran fine for 2 months then the #8 cylinder burned up at 43k miles. Rings were shot and it burned a quart of oil per day. This time Dodge said "sucks to be you". I sold the truck with a bad motor at 48000 miles on it. I changed the oil every 3-5k miles with mobile 1, used a K&N air filter, I really babied it and it only lasted 48000 miles. I know I had a lemon but if Dodge won't stand behind it when you get a lemon....now Im driving a super clean 91 Ford F150 with 104k on it and no problems. I still love the looks of the Dodge trucks, but I'll wait awhile before I buy another one.
