View Full Version : Chameleon Plant going ramped

There is Houttuynia Cordata or Chamelion Plant ground cover going ramped all over the beds. We have tried roundup and trimec but this stubborn gound cover grew back. There are desirables in the area like trees, hydrangeas and lillies. Does anyone know a good trick on how to get rid of this?. Its not a weed but it is much too invasive. If you dig it out and leave 1/4" of root, it will continue to grow and multiply.

What's your mix rate on the gly. you've been trying?
It's apparently susceptible.

Really dont know the rate.

My bet is either you or the company you are representing doesn't know what is in the tank. A heavy--labeled rate will do the trick-especially with a good surfactant added. The trick to most of these invasive rhizomic ground covers is to do multiple applications once the sprouts re appear. Eventually, you will rid the bed of the problem. Then again, since they are rhizomic, like bermuda grass--where will it pop up next.
