Now here is a mind bender.
86 years old
Leroy Luetscher was working in his back garden when he dropped a pair of pruning shears, which landed point-side down in the ground.

When Luetscher went to pick them up, he lost his balance and fell face-down on the handle. The handle penetrated his eye socket and went down into his neck, resting on the external carotid artery. Half the shears were left in his head, while the other half was sticking out.

An X-ray of Mr Luetscher's head showed the severity of the injury.

Your supposed to warn people before you put a pic like that up.

I will never look at a pair of pruning shears the same.

I will do that. 101 not HWY 5. I'm stopping at Mike's (Argos) right off the bat so I'll get him to help me plan a scenic tour.

US 101 is not the Coast Highway. Go and visit Big Sur.

I converted my 9x14 Cargo trailer into a RV of sorts. an outlet to get power at rv stops and put in a futon. Made a screen for the door and will have a swamp cooler if I need to leave Beau behind for any reason.

We'll be on the road in a couple of weeks, moving south. Perchance we'll hook-up.

Our favorite sites! If there are not four or five broken-down rigs, ten kids, closeline and blue tarps, we drive on.

So what's cruising HWY 1 like? Slow go and lots of great sights? Any sections of it I should just skip?

When I brought my boys to America we woke up straight from the hotel and went out and watched a kite festival. Scared the hell out of 'em.

Peter. Don't forget I am out of town 6 and 7. I am actually going to be in Gregg's neighborhood one of those days.

Matt, Peter, Gregg...maybe a west coast hook up on the 17th? You guys have time? Drag Jim down from Red bluff, but we would have to keep an eye on him. HAR HAR HAR.

BTW there is nothing to skip on Highway 1. Awesome trip. MAKE sure you fill up! You don't want to be caught in the middle with no gas. Made that mistake once. Told the kids "Someday you will pay $4.00 a gallon like this everywhere" little did I know that someday was sooner then I thought.
