Where I'm from (Toronto Area), You see tons of people going door to door selling aerations. You have springmaster and lots of guys who run independent businesses to regular guys renting a machine to make some extra money. However in the fall I've never seen any of that. Of course the fall is a great time to aerate and all the big lawncare companies and landscape businesses have lots of aerating work to do. I'm wondering if it is at all profitable to go door to door selling aerations in the fall. Does anyone here have experience doing so? Thanks in advance for your input!

Were in the Toronto area aswell and if you go to a wealthier neighbourhood you should do well.

Ya a lot of my customers prefer the fall aeration over the spring, although I don't have a favorite time as spring and fall is the best time. You can be very successful with fall door to door aeration since a lot of the big competition (SM) doesn't offer that service in the fall.

Best of luck

Hope to hire someone to do this. My other business and injuries prevent me from doing it solo. Doing good to keep up with mowing as it is.

Just saw your post, I have done door to door aerating for 2-3 seasons spring and fall and have had very good turnouts although it helps to go around the night before and sell the service and set it up with the customer, that way if you rent the machine you wont waste any time trying to talk the customer into it and you can just continue to work. In my opinion one of the best times of the year to make money and a quick way to make money and grow your business and client database, bc most will want other services if they are happy and satisfied etc.
