I have an older exmark that runs well. but parts are hard to come by. Anyone have one that they want to sell or have parts they are selling? Looks like this mower in this thread:

Thanks for the name metro....I had forgotten that. Right now the part I need is the transmission because of the kill switch not working. I by passed it but I worry about it

Hi,

First time posting.Been reading for some time. I had a similar problem. To cut it short, I got a 36 inch JD WB mower used, about 1989 model year. Couldnt get ANY info anywhere from the JD dealers. I had found out bunton makes them, contacted them... They had told me of a company that had all the parts for my old mower, called j-thomas, contact them,or google their site, they helped me when i was in a total jam!, Good Luck! Love this site!

The Exmark in the OP is virtually identical to what I just bought and I can't find any information on it. What I could find on the mower is ("48-11B-P" and then under that "10856"). I assume that is model and serial number.

I picked it up for $300, it has a newer Honda 389cc motor ($800) that runs and cuts great.

The problem is the transmission has some issues; it is all out full speed, all the time. I have no manuals and no informtion on the mower. Frankly, I am trying to figure out how the thing works and is put together.

It cuts great, but using the breaks as speed control ain't gonna cut it for long.

Any ideas on where to go for "vintage" Exmark information?

Wow pretty crazy ride!!!! Yea I had some issues with mine but is getting repaired as we speak but hopefully when I get it back it will be ready to make some money.... I had to pull it to start it but this guy is setting up motor battery ignition.... I will check into your mower if you want that might be enough information to go by.... Take some pics of it and send me to my email zeman45@gmail.com talk to you later...
