After reading all the chat about the OCMC I figure I
deserve a chance to answer some of the questions
presented. I searched for almost 2 years for this
product for my Scag. I had contacted YSM and
never got a reply of any kind. I finally found a
qualified individual willing to work on this with me. I
wanted a unit that looked professionally made and
not just thrown together in a garage.
I did not copy this design from anybody as it does
not take a Rocket Scientist to come up with a simple
design like this, just ask bushhogboy. I was
expecting to hear from REO but I guess he was too
busy. It does take a lot of trial and error and a
considerable amount of time. I am sure REO can
agree to this. Like REO promotes about his product
he sells on Lawnsite this unit will undergo much fine
tuning, after qualified users give feedback. I have
never said anything negative about the unit ROE
sells and do admire his ambition on finding a product
our industry is wanting and needing. I am filling in a
need for other consumers (Scag owners) who had
not been addressed until now.

I got one of these today. It is awesome. They linkage is very smooth and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I called dreamertex last night and he came to one of my jobs today and helped me put it on. It only took about 15 minutes to install. Anyone considering getting one of these should go ahead and do it. Plus it only costs $185. The others I have seen are @$50 more than this one.

Ok... I did a search on OCMC and just came up with this thread. What in the world is a OCMC??? And why should I care? Should I just mind my own business and move on?

It is an operator controlled discharge chute. When you are mowing around houses, mulch beds, & such you can close off the chute to keep debris off and out. When you are mowing open areas just open it up and let it blow away. And the best thing is you never leave your seat.

I have one coming for my Exmark! :D

Jim emailed me a photo of the unit, and it looked well designed and built.

Great service from Jim.

after rethinking my comment about the cost of the device on another thread, I suppose I owe an appology.

many times I have needed the ability to close the chute on my machine and not been able.

good luck to you guys with this and I'll follow development as you give us details.

and BTW, I have shot groundhogs all over the HY 49 area, coopertown and PV! and everywhere else in ROBERTSON COUNTY. small world, aint it!

GEO:

Yep, it is a small world.

Back in the late 1960's my grandfather was a minister at the Battle Creek Baptist Church...just a stones throw up what was then a dirt road from Cooperstown. I can see why they put the cemetary right there on the curve....less walking! :D

An OCDC is going to be my next addition to my Lazer. That, and the striping roller.

If you count your labor, you can't make one of those things for what you can buy it for.

I like the fact it has holes in it, if I want , I can easily block them off. If it didn't have holes, it wouldn't be worth it to try to drill them out.

A striping roller, on the other hand, is probably a lot easier to make...
just two brackets and a conveyer system roller th eright lenght to fit between the rear scalp wheels.

GEO, thanks for your response. This is why I really like Lawnsite so much. The help and advice of other LCO's is unmatched with any industry around. I hope you give me a call anytime you wind up here in Cooperstown and I'll treat you to a good Barbque at Jim's Texaco..
