I have a good friend who bought a Yard Shark ZTR a few months ago and has had a lot of trouble with it. Now it has blown a pump out and yard shark is telling them that it is his fault for not changing the hydro filter after the first 10hrs. of use. I have never heard of that one before on a hydro filter. Engine filter yes but not a hydro.

Now she is back to using her 1995 model dixie chopper that has had one hydro pump replaced since she got it new.

With all the troubles they have had with it I told her to see if she could get it exchanged for another one. What do you guys think?

What does the owners manual say? None of my mowers ask for a hydro filter change at 10 hrs but that does not mean Yard Shark can't require it. But it should be written in the owners manual.

Look there and let us know what the owners manual says.

She had a good mower to start with. I wonder why they would buy one of those "Yard Sharks" ?

Why would she want another one, they're junk man. Tell her to go after a REFUND!

Not sure what your friend is, but if I were you I would go after a refund from the dealer. If you get a new machine at least look for something that has a warrenty and good rep.

You buy a Chinese mower and that's what happens. There is a Made In USA emblem but those mowers are ASSEMBLED in the USA. Their walks are the same exact Red Hawk/Byers Gold/Black Rock/The Landscaper and 8 other names mowers that have been coming from China since the 1990's.

My understanding is they are made by the old schweiss company which is a usa company. The pumps are parker brand which is pretty common. Mower is suppose to have a two year warranty. And I know the dealer will do whatever it takes to make them happy because I deal with them on my machines. I am just a little worried for her and the dealer in this situation. I am afraid both of them are not going to be treated right.

Same mower, different color.

They may be assembled by the old schweiss company but these are the same Chinese mowers.

Better not accidentaly step on the deck lift linkage. They did manage to get a good seat on it though.

He has some inaccuracies there. For example Snapper, Snapper Pro, Simplicity and Ferris are all owned by Briggs and they have a lot of cross branded models of the same mower between all 4 divisions.
