I have noticed more and more people/businesses using qr codes. It a pretty cool idea and i think is starting to catch on with the more tech savvy crowd.

I made my own qr code that links to my website,I'm going to start using it on my fliers and possibly my business cards in the future.

Here is a link for anyone who has no idea what im talking about.

We have been using them since last year, they are on all of our print media, fliers, business cards, holiday cards, thank you notes, and on our trucks. We not only use them to link to our website, but we have also created several for different marketing campaigns such as snow plowing, seasonal color, discount coupon, etc. they work great and lately I see alot of people scanning the ones on our trucks at red lights and such. Alot of it might be curiosity, but it is driving traffic to our website, our hits have increased by about 30% since we started using them regularly.

Thats what im assuming is going to happen in my area as well, I see more and more of them popping up around here, and as more and more people start to understand what they do i think it will will help drive curious people to the website.

Heres a picture of ours..Leads to our phone number since our website is still in production and Its on almost every type of advertisement we send out.

I think they're great.. everyone has an iPhone or blackberry today and they seem to get a lot of positive attention.

How does one go about making QR codes? Are there generators you can use online to link to websites?

We use qr codes on the back of our business cards. I use various codes for different marketing material. I have a magnetic sign with a qr code to my mobile website on the back of my truck.

If you are going to use qr codes for your website, make sure your website is viewable on all types of phones. If you have any flash, that won't work on many phones. Even some phones won't accept javascript. Also, watch your site load time on a phone. If it takes 1-2 minutes for it to load on a phone, that is BAD!
Take a look at my mobile site on your phone: www.kirkslawncare.mobi
Loads within seconds!
