Anyone got any suggestions on which manufacturer makes a good one?

I have used a graden a lot. That's a good machine but that was for putting green's and tee's. I am not sure what the best thing for a lawn is.

Blue Bird is good, if you can find an old Snapper Commercial they're good units as well. I have a Snapper Commercial that I put a Honda motor on and it's been great to me. Blue Bird will be a little bit easier for you to get parts for though...

I might be considered biased but give a look at the Billy Goat series of Power Rakes, Overseeders and Self propelled Overseeders.
