View Full Version : Use PO Box or Home address?

I have been using my home address with only part time but I am taking over 300+ accounts. What would you recommend? What do you guys use, home/po?

I've looked into some of the virtual po boxes but don't think that will work since receiving checks.

I use a PO box because when I started I was living in an apartment that I knew I wasn't going to be in for long. If you move you will have to make sure 300 people have your new address if you use your home address.

I use a PO box for customer use. I have 1200 active customers, and probably another 5000 inactive customers. I know they can find where I live, but I want them mailing to a PO box, not my home. Trying to separate home and office.

Good points. I just can't decide if I need to or not. I am leaning towards it for that purpose of not having to change the address. I haven't had any problems with mail up to this point but have only been mowing for a dozen or so clients.

My service center and my home are located on a farm with acreage. There is no mail delivery here, so I have to have a post office box in the next city. It's only five minutes down the highway and having an address listed as "Industrial Avenue" is kind of cool.

I would prefer to have it delivered here.

With a P.O. box you won't have to worry about kids thinking it's funny to walk down the street, open your box, and throw your mail up and down the street. I've had it happen to me a couple of times. Can you imagine, with all that you have your mind on in the day, to have to explain to customers that you understand they sent the check but you don't have it and why? The times it has happened to me, I had a P.O. box and nothing important was in there. I came home and all of my mail was in the ditch, or in the street, or across the street. If you get a P.O. box, change billing address on your credit card statements, bank statements, utility bills, and any important mail you would receive. Can save a lot of potential headaches.

Anyone using a UPS box at UPS Store? I like the idea being able to have a street address. Cost is at least double a PO Box. I see some people use it as suite #. Is anyone doing this?

Thank you. I searched but apparently not very well..... Ended up getting a UPS Mailbox with my local UPS Store which is 5 minutes away from my residence.

You'll thank yourself by going with a private company vs. the govt.
