View Full Version : 12V MR16 soffitt light?

Can anyone suggest a recessed soffit fixture that uses an MR16? I've used the Nightscaping Soffitlighter in the past but it's not an MR16 fixture and I'd really prefer one that is.

Most of what I've been able to find has been line voltage fixtures.

You can use Contrast REM3000 'cans' that are remotely powered, and use the Contrast T3450D series of trims that offer 28deg gimbal and deep regressed lamp to minimize glare.

They have the best line up of trim finishes in the biz.

There are a plethera of MR16 line voltage cans. Just swap sockets and use low volt lamps or wire in an inline trans and use line voltage. Either way, plenty of options.

Hey Tim, with all due respect... you are in fact correct, however we are talking about installing lighting on a structure here. It is really important to pay close attention to regulations, codes, ordinances and listings when wiring on or in structures. Altering any UL listed lighting fixture on site will void it's listing and place the contractor at risk. Much better idea to use products that have been specifically designed and listed for the application.

Also, Contrast offers the shortest retro can on the market at only 3.5" deep. Great for those really tight places where no other pot light will fit.

Contrast does make a nice recessed fixture. I have used many.

Thanks for the info on Contrast Lighting. I can think of many interior uses for these.
