In a class this whole week with my boss doing a refresher testing course . Fun Stuff!!!! Blaaaa There is 3 more days of classes and I've already reviewed everything and I'm ready to do the test

In the mean time . Seattle's been hit with several days of large snow storms that snow several inches and then melt off- tomorrow more then likely everyone is getting a foot of snow. For seattlites- that's a lot.

ive got my class coming up in the spring, they let us walk in and test the 3 valves and walk out. but i usually stay the night and chat with all the other contractors.
new testers have to sit for the entire 3 classes

Yeah I believe that.

The rest of the group are boeing employees for this class who could give a rats ass about the class. I'm by far the youngest guy there by at least 15 years.
Snowed in today- I'll just go in for a few hours tomorrow to practice and then the test on saturday.

Being that I'm with my boss and he payed for the class/test. I shouldn't slack off hah.

A pineapple express has hit washington and oregon. With our winds abnormally coming in from canada all of western washington is hit with snow and our moutains by the end of this week could reach up to 4' of new snow for the week total. Hurricane force winds to hit the oregon coast with gusts up to 90mph

On the bright side my grandpa has finally given me back the keys to his condo up in the skiing area. Now I can stay there- walk out the door and ski down to the lifts. :)

I agree.. Particularly that they used a screw with a 0ring instead of a second test ****

I remember some old Wilkins DCVAs with a bleed screw on the check covers.

Nice pics, Mitch, glad I'm down here. Do you still have to go south to Green River C.C. for the backflow refresh?

It's an extension of the Green river cc in downtown auburn. Actually there is a couple classrooms in a garage parking lot.

Does everybody still call that area "rat city"?

hah. It's improved a lot over the years.

I'm surprised they even require you to take refresher courses when they don't even teach proper cross connection control to begin with. I'm assuming they still think underground backflows are acceptable.

I'm surprised a business owner like your self can have such tunnel vision of their own opinion and have a running business. Actually I'm not surprised

Might have a talk with your cross-connection control specialist on why DCVAs are not permitted; obviously there is no understanding of proper installation and testing mechanisms.
